It's Easter Weekend!
Easter weekend is fast approaching, and we've got you covered with a list of Easter egg hunts in the Kansas City metro, including some around Kansas City but also in Johnson County and Missouri.
Zona Rosa Easter Parade
Don't miss the Zona Rosa Easter parade on Saturday, April 19th, from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, which travels through the Town Center streets. All floats and vehicles welcome to participate in the parade, with registration. According to their site,
"This FREE community event features the Easter Bunny, a best dressed contest for the whole family featuring Spring/Easter finery, (the BEST DRESSED FAMILY wins $1,000!) a live performance by Mr. Stinky Feet, and much more!"
Kansas City Metro Road Races
In addition, I've also compiled a list of Kansas City 5ks, 10ks, and half/full marathons happening for the rest of the month of April. Even though the Rock the Parkway half and full marathon was this past weekend, hopefully you can still find a few races to run if the weather cooperates for the rest of the month!
If you have an event in April or beyond that you'd like me to promote, please email me at kansascity [at] aboutguide.com!

With spring now coming into Kansas City, there are so many great events to attend and businesses to check out. Here are some of the great date night or friend outing ideas I've written about this week:
As recent study said Johnson County was one of the healthiest places to live in Kansas.
Have you and your friends or significant other been wanting to check out a wine and painting class? Here are all the current studios in the metro.
With First Fridays happening t his weekend, check out the antique malls around the West Bottoms that are only open the first Friday and Saturday of the month, or check out the other antique malls around Kansas City and Shawnee.

Johnson County Community College is hosting the KC Food Circle Eat Local and Organic Expo on March 29 and April 12, 2014. For more information, please see the flyer below. Here is the PDF version.
Other happenings in Kansas City include the announcement of the newest location of Stroud's restaurant, opening in June 2014, and the fact that Mecum Auto Auctions will be coming to Bartle Hall in Kansas City on April 24-26 this year!
Yes--it's more than a mouthful, but once again the KC Home Show and the KC Flower, Lawn and Garden Show have combined their efforts to produce one of the biggest Spring Outdoor Shows in the Midwest. Dubbed "The Big Show", hundreds of vendors from all around showcase home and garden products and services to fit your every need.
The show is held March 22nd-24th at the Convention Center/Bartle Hall. General admission starts at $10, and discount tickets are available. For further info go to the Home Show and Flower, Lawn and Garden guide.
