Statement From Hotel Phillips Regarding Location Appearance In The Movie “Bruno”:
The movie “Bruno” features a scene that takes place in Kansas City’s Hotel Phillips. While it is not an unusual occurrence for celebrities to stay at the Hotel Phillips or for the hotel to be used as a backdrop for photo and video shoots, in this instance we were obviously unaware of the nature of the film or the events depicted in the scene.
Our professional staff reacted in a manner one might expect for a hotel of our caliber. While we are delighted that yet another celebrity chose our hotel during their stay in Kansas City, it is unfortunate that we were not completely advised as to the content of the film. What can we say? Sacha Baron Cohen has great taste in hotels.

Take that Bruno!!!
I haven't rushed to the movie theater to see Sasha Baron Cohen's, 'Bruno' and actually, I'll probablly wait until it hits a Redbox before I see it (if it makes it to Redbox?).
Kansas City press has been abuzz today as our local boutique hotel, Hotel Phillips got caught up in Cohen's antics. The unfortunate scene involved hand cuffs, a human pretzel, gerbils and some unsuspecting Hotel Phillips staff.
My question is, why would Phillips staff release their images for the movie? Did the producers lie about what they were filming again? If you remember, Cohen and his producers were sued by MANY people who were lied to and released their images for 'Borat'. Anything involving Cohen and hand cuffs just doesn't seem to equal a good situation for anyone (especially after 'Borat'), but it could equal a good PR move for Hotel Phillips....

Le Fou Frog tops About KC's list of
romantic dining spots, but besides having amazing food, perfect service and the best frog legs this side of I don't know where...they also throw one heck of a Bastille Day Bash. According to wikipedia, 'Bastille Day is the French national holiday commemorating the takeover of the Bastille prison, on 14, July, 1789, which marks the beginning of the French Revolution.' Enough with the history lesson? Ok,ok.
2009 marks the Frog's 13th annual bash, which comes complete with live music, menu specials, and wine galore to celebrate all things Francais. The Frog changes it up in 2009 and plans three great evenings of excitement--from Chanteuse Coco L’Amour performing her exciting bulesque and D.J. Ratatouille spinning on Friday, to the Coleen Cassidy Trio on Saturday, and ALACARTOONA on Tuesday... you can't beat the Frog.
