Buck O'Neil Should Be in the Baseball Hall of Fame
Saturday May 27, 2006
If you're like many in Kansas City--most of us think our beloved Buck O'Neil got robbed by losing a bid to the Baseball Hall of Fame this past Spring. Considered by many as one of the most beloved players in baseball history--O'Neil was a 'players player', spending almost two decades with the Kansas City Monarchs and paved the way by becoming the first black coach in major league history with the Cubs in 1962.
The Kansas City T-bones are spearheading a campaign to immediately induct the more than deserving O'Neil into the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY. The T-bones are making every effort to obtain 100,000 signatures on a petition this Summer. Fans of O'Neil may sign the petition at any T-bones home game (at the CommunityAmerica Ballpark in KCK) or by going to the T-Bones' gift shop, the Meat Locker, 9am-5 pm Monday-Friday and 10 am-4 pm on Saturdays.

What a disgrace for baseball, not including Buck in the Hall of Fame.
