I always enjoy September First Friday because the weather is significantly cooler (usually) and the galleries are finally full of art from the summer hiatus. September is a big month art-wise in Kansas City with the Westport Art Fair and Plaza Art Fair--and First Friday kicks it all off.

Heading to First Friday? Here are our Top Picks for September 2007:

  • Lisa Grossman, 'Cloud' --Dolphin Gallery, 1901 Baltimore Avenue
  • Ethereal Collections: KCAI Student Exhibition, KCAI Crossroads Gallery, 1908 Main Street
  • John Davis Carroll, 'Urban Observations, Pi Gallery, 419 E. 18th., 816.210.6534

and don't forget the Crossroads Music Fest this Saturday and Sunday with Blackpool Lights, It's Over!, Lucero and many other fave hometown bands!
