ABC's 'Opportunity Knocks' Game Show to Tape in Weatherby Lake

Wednesday August 27, 2008
Have you seen the ads for ABC's new game show, 'Opportunity Knocks'? Host Seth Green claims to 'take over your neighborhood and turn it into a game show for the entire country' in that 'Extreme Home Makeover' sort of way. Well, in a sbliminal message sort of way, ABC announces at the end of said commercial that 'Opportunity Knocks' will be in Kansas City on September 4th from 4-7pm. Thanks to tivo, you heard it here first, folks.

And...since the zip code closely resembles mine, I jumped in my car, threw the addy in the GPS, and did a drive-by like a total wacko. The address just happens to be in Weatherby Lake, which, if you're going to do a drive-by, DON'T SPEED and also note that the Barry Road Bridge is also closed (annoying) so it takes some serious maneuvering to get to the actual house.

I have no idea how ABC is going to do an entire gameshow in Weatherby Lake, on a tiny winding road with zero parking and lots that zoom down to the lake. Should be interesting and I know WL residents must be thrilled.

September 4-7th.

they never did do a show. we went there expecting them to do the actual show but all they did was have the family come up on a stage for 10 minutes and answer a few simple questions and get a new tv. Apparently it was more to promote the show so people will watch it later. The free kettle corn was good though.
