MTV, VH1, Noggin, Nick May Be Pulled Off Time Warner Cable

Wednesday December 31, 2008
As I'm working this morning, my 5 year old is glued to the TV. She loves Nick and has a funny obsession with he who lives in a Pineapple under the sea (don't most 5 year olds?). Much to her dismay, there is a crawler on the screen of many of her favorite networks this morning saying that Time Warner Customers may not, after today, be seeing MTV, Noggin, VH1, Nick, Nicktoons, Comedy Centra and SIXTEEN other channels. Tomorrow. What!!!?

According to reports, Time Warner Cable is in a dispute with Viacom network over a fee increase. Time Warner is holding out, saying that the 22-36% per channel increase is redic. Viacom insists that the increase will only lead to a .25 cent monthly increase per subscriber.

Note to Time Warner: I'm willing to pay .25 to save my sanity and avoid the screaming and crying of children nationwide over the non-existance of Spongebob, Dora, I-Carly, Lazy Town ...

Plus: What will I do without my Monday night 'The City' fix?

Oh My! So taking those channels off air will decrease our monthly rates, right?!? Probably not! Come tomorrow, if those channels are gone, I will no longer be a TWC customer. I’m over their drama anyway. New year maybe we should switch to AT&T.

The only reason that we use Time Warner cable is because of the programs that will be pulled. We will not be Time Warner cables beyond 2 days without the pulled channels. By the way, I tried to call local time warner all day today and the lines were busy.

O. M. G.!!!!! If they take Noggin off the TWC line up, I’m sending my 4 yr old down to their office to complain. It will be back on within an hour of her whining. That is HORRIBLE!
