According to the release from Grill's website, Grill's bill passed which allows Missouri families with autistic children will finally have access to health insurance that will aid children on the autistic spectrum with much needed therapies. The bill requires health benefit plans and insurance companies regulated by the state of Missouri to cover autism spectrum disorders. We can only hope that more states will follow with similar legislation.
'Many Missouri families with autistic children will have access to health insurance coverage for life-changing behavioral therapies under legislation approved by the Missouri General Assembly on Wednesday. Rep. Jason Grill, D-Kansas City, sponsored HB 1341 and co-sponsored HB 1311 - the two bills that make up the autism legislation that was approved in the House by a vote of 144-16.'
