Where to Spend New Year's Eve in Kansas City

By December 27, 2012

Follow me on:

When I was young, New Year's was spent watching the ball drop at the Folly Theater and people dancing their pants off at the Hyatt. My-oh-my how things have changed since then.

For you procrasinators...it's not to late to ring in the New Year Kansas City style, with many of the best New Year's Eve celebrations in the Kansas City metro still available. From the super swanky and the ultimate bashes to family friendly and laid back..Kansas City is the place to be at midnight. So throw on your best duds, sip some champagne and welcome 2013...

While Hangar 9 is sold out, the Black Party at the Firestone Building, NYE at the Temple, Rock Around the Clock at Union Station and many more still have tickets as of press time.

For these and all other great things to do this New Year's Eve, read our KC NYE Guide 2012.

Hangar 9 was the absolute worst disaster NYE party I have ever been to. I urge anyone who is thinking about attending this party next year NOT to go to this overpriced party for crappy liquor and terrible food. Oh and if you think you want to go home afterwards – forget it. There will be zero transportation leaving you stranded in heels in the snow. Thanks a lot guys – you have earned a solid F in my book.

DO NOT waste your money on this party. Crappy liquor, 45 min waits for drinks, coat check? forget it.. hang on to it yourself.. Oh and the food was a joke. And if you think you want to leave and go home? Nope.. prepare to stand outside in heels in the freezing cold for an hour until maybe.. just maybe you find a way get home. A waste of time..
