Kansas City's most fabulous retailer, Halls, not only has the most amazing shoe department in the entire metro, but their city block Plaza location boasts an impressive collection of housewares and China, designer collections for men, women, and children and enough handbags to make any fashionista melt.

This week, Halls launched the first of a series of 10 fashion-themed webisodes that focus on upcoming trends and act as 90-second 'crash-courses' on everything from make-up tips and shoes, to the latest on men's suits.

Kansas City Fall Leaf and Brush Pick Up 2009

Tuesday November 3, 2009
Judging by the leaves that are piling up in my backyard, it's time to start mowing, mulching and bagging ASAP. If you're like the Sharp household, we usually don't know when the fall leaves and yard waste are supposed to be picked up. Usually, I just look to see what the neighbors are doing...but by then, it's either too early and I haven't raked up the fall leaves or too late and my leaves sit in bags for weeks.

Here's the handy guide to the 2009 Kansas City Leaf and Brush schedule which looks to be starting in some neighborhoods this week and go throughout December.

Kansas City Combat Tax

Monday November 2, 2009
We don't get too political here @ About KC, but you can't help but see signs all over the metro to vote yes for the Combat Tax. Will people vote for this, and does anyone really know what the Combat combats?

Tony's Kansas City breaks it down for us with a great post on the 'anti-combatants'.

Did Shorty and the Boys Get the Axe?

Tuesday October 27, 2009

Did 95.7 The Vibe's long time morning show get the axe?

The Pitch Weekly's Nadia Pflaum blogged a few weeks ago that KCHZ is moving to a Top 40 format, and judging by their website, The Vibe is down to a mere two DJ's, and 95 minutes of commercial free music three times a day.

Is a program change away from an urban format a good move?
