Grab your light sabers and head to the Airline History Museum on Saturday (11/21) when Darth Vader and Princess Leia join forces with Santa for a fun-filled day all which benefit the museum.

Bring a new toy and donate to Toys-for-Tots, and you'll be able to take pictures with Star Wars characters (over 20 will be on hand) and enjoy face painting, balloon artists and much, much, more.

Congrats to Royals pitcher Zack Greinke for winning the Cy Young Award. Agreed, Greinke is a phenon pitcher, but, my only question is...how does a team that hasn't made the playoffs since 1985 (sic) have a Cy Young award winner?

Kansas City has always had a love affair with hockey. The NHL Kansas City Scouts hit the ice at Kemper Arena from 1974-1976, and the IHL's Kansas City Blades made a repeat performance at the same arena from 1992-2001. Sold out NHL exhibition games and rumors that an NHL franchise would play at the Sprint Center left Kansas City hockey fans hoping for a comeback, and left them thirsty for the slapshot.

It's been over eight years since a pro team has played the lines in Kansas City, and this weekend, the Kansas City Mavericks will face off in the 5,800 seat Independence Events Center, and Kansas City hockey fans couldn't be happier.

Judging by the leaves that are piling up in my backyard, it's time to start mowing, mulching and bagging ASAP. If you're like the Sharp household, we usually don't know when the fall leaves and yard waste are supposed to be picked up. Usually, I just look to see what the neighbors are doing...but by then, it's either too early and I haven't raked up the fall leaves or too late and my leaves sit in bags for weeks.
