Carrotmob KC Mobs First Kansas City Business

Thursday October 9, 2008
What if you could support a local organization's going green efforts by merely shopping there? San Francisco based Carrotmob came up with the concept and has been going strong ever since--and Kansas City now has its very own Carrotmob KC.

The concept is a simple one--Carrotmob works with local business owners who are essentially 'mobbed' by locals on a specific date, and a percentage of what the mob buys goes towards the green efforts of the business.

Carrotmob KC's first hit? Liquor stores. After approaching local establishments and promising to bring a huge mob of paying customers if they could donate the largest percentage of sales to being green....World of Spirits at 39th and Bell won the bidding war and will be donating 24% of gross revenue on Carrotmob Day into their environmental efforts.

What: Carrotmob KC
When: Tuesday, October 21st 5-10 p.m.
Where: World of Spirits, 39th and Bell

Roasterie Coffee Announces MyBlend Website Launch October 21st

Tuesday October 7, 2008
I'm pretty much in love with Roasterie Coffee. They roast some of the best beans anywhere, can't deny that their carmel latte at the Roasterie Cafe in BKS is my favorite in town, and the Roasterie Tour has made our KC Top Tour list since 2006.

Roasterie announces (true to trailblazing) that they will launch their MyBlend Website on October 21st. You'll be able to answer a few simple questions about your java preferences, and voila! MyBlend matches your likes with thousands of roast and coffee combos to come up with your perfect match.

Even cooler, you can design and customize your own label with font and photos for your very own bag of beans. I'm keeping this on my radar for coffee loving holiday gifts.
