18th Street Fashion Show :
The commingling of the urban renewal and the revitalization of the Crossroads District has brought many things to Kansas City-most notably, First Friday, great galleries, flourishing art scene and a plethora of fashion boutiques that bring us a little taste of what's going on elsewhere. So, as summer heats up, so does the Kansas City Arts and Fashion scene--starting with the Annual 18th Street Fashion Show, June 16th, 2007.

'Summer Wonderland':
The free, family-friendly, outdoor fashion show brings over twenty local designers paired with over forty local models who show 18 short collections. This years show, dubbed 'Summer Wonderland' brings collections from Kansas City's uberchic fashion houses like spool*, bon bon atelier, Habitat and Birdies, nu Kai and coci Bijou to the runway with a New York fashion week kind of feel. With ultra-hip clothes, beautious models and tunes spinning by TJ Dovebelly...it's the must-do fashion event of the summer.

Chocolate Summer's designers include the best local talent anywhere. This year's participants include Kansas City design consultant and business owner, Joscelyn Himes of nui Kai, who has worked with Bill Blass and Vera Wang; Lindsay Rae Miller, who was an assistant costume designer for the movie Xmen-II; and Heidi Herrman, who has designed for such brands as Converse, Sean John and Tommy Hilfiger just for starters.
