Easter is one of Kansas City's favorite ways to ring in Spring with warm weather (most years!) and blooms galore. From Easter Parades and breakfast with the Easter Bunny, to doggie Easter "Begg" Hunts and fabulous feasts, Kansas City has a great many things to do...so get hoppin' to one of these great Kansas City Easter events.
Kansas City's longest standing tradition has moved from the Plaza to the Northland's Zona Rosa. Put on your best Easter duds and take part in the 3rd Annual Easter Parade, Saturday, March 22nd at 11am. Be sure and stick around for fun family activities--with a petting zoo and giveaways on Town Square and in the Food Gardens after the parade. Zona Rosa is awarding gift certificates and prizes, including a $1,000 gift certificate to Zona Rosa for the most outstanding parade going family!
Hop over to Powell Gardens for Breakfast With the Easter Bunny on March 15th and March 22nd from 8:30-10 a.m. Breakfast is $3.25 for children 12 and under; $6.50 for ages 5 and above. Call 816.697.2600 for reservations.
Powell Gardens also hosts an Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. on March 22nd for children ages 10 and under. The cost is $5 per child and includes regular garden admission; adults pay regular Garden admission.

The Three Dog Bakery hosts its 10th Annual Easter "Begg" Hunt and Bone-it Contest at the Penguin Courtyard across from Brio. The leash free event starts at 9:30 am with over 500 coupons stuffed in 1,200 treat filled eggs and prizes awarded for the top Easter bonnet wearing pups. The canine who finds the golden egg will be treated to 6 months of baked doggie treats. Register at the bakery or the day of the event. The $5 registration fee goes to the Gracie Foundation.
While there are hundreds of great places to eat Easter Brunch around town, here are some KC faves.
The Hotel Phillips downtown offers a scrumptious brunch at both 12B and the beautiful Chophouse from 11am-3pm. New exec chef Marshall Roth cooks up some great dishes--look for everything from leg of lamb and omelettes to eggs benedicts and great desserts. Cost is $38 p/p--10 and under are $15.
The Downtown Marriott also serves up a grand feast with a great assortment of food (including a great dessert bar!), live pianist and entertainment for the kids.
The Grand Street Cafe also offers a huge Easter brunch with everything from breakfast items and caviar to Easter ham.
