Kansas City Holiday Festival :

2006 marks Kansas City's first Holiday Festival--brought to you by the Downtown council. The Holiday Festival, which brings holiday festivities to both Union Station and the River Market-- promises to bring a bit of holiday magic throughout downtown KC.

The Downtown Council will turn Union Station and the City Market into a magical winter wonderland December 8th and 9th, 2006.

Holiday Festival 2006:

Friday: Events will be held exclusively at Union Station. A happy hour kicks off the event followed by a performance by the Heartland Men's Chorus at the Union Cafe.

Saturday: Events will be held throughout the day at the City Market. With holiday decorations, the Market will boast Santa's Winter Workshop (with Wonderscope), a heated tent with Santa, entertainment, crafts, food and children's activites.

Radio Disney will also be holding it's preliminary High School Musical Talent Competition

Kansas City Kids Christmas Tree :

The highlight of the Holiday Festival will be the lighting of the The 'Kansas City’s Kids Christmas Tree'. The famed KC Wolf and Santa will participate in the official lighting ceremony which will take place at dusk with a fireworks display to follow.
