Sabates Trolley Run 2009:

The 2009 Trolley Run Kansas City Trolley Run will be held on Sunday, April 26th and benefits the Children's Center for the Visually Impaired. The Trolley Run is the major fundraiser for the CCVI--who for 50+ years have equipped blind and visually impaired infants, preschoolers and kindergartners from the Kansas City area with the special skills they need in order to function at their highest potential in the sighted world. All proceeds from the Trolley Run benefit CCVI.

Race Information :

The race starts promptly at 7:45 am--with runners at 8 am and walkers beginning at 8:25 am. The Trolley Run has a national reputation for being a fast, flat-to-downhill course and posts both the female and male 4-mile American record times.

The race starts 75th & Wornall, moves through the Brookside area, and finishes near Central & Ward Parkway on the Country Club Plaza.

Registration Information:

Register online through trolleyrun.org. Race day registration is located at 75th and Wornall. Check the Trolley Run website for a complete list of all registration info.

Race Day Events:

The music and warm up festivities are from 6-7:45 am at 75th and Wornall. Pledges are also accepted at this time. At 6am the Trolleys start transporting runners from the Plaza. The last Trolley leaves at 7:30.

The wheelchair, Red and Blue waves kick off at 7:45 am--and at 8:00 am all other runners start. Walkers hit the course at 8:15 am. However, don't miss the best part of the race, the After-Bash held on the Plaza from 8:45 - 11:00 am!

Kids Trolley Fun Run:

The Trolley Run also hosts a non-competitive Fun Run for kids 10 and under at 10:15am. The event is held after the adult 4-mile run at the Mill Creek Park (Cleaver II Blvd. & J.C. Nichols Parkway) which is just east of the Country Club Plaza. There will be prizes and lots of entertainment for little ones.
