Maybe you don't celebrate Christmas. Maybe it's not a big deal in your family. Maybe you're just looking for something fun to do with your holiday guests. Whatever it is--here are five ideas for things to do on Christmas Day in the KC Metro.
From the famed Plaza Lights and holiday displays to a house that lights dance to Christmas music--you'll find it all in Kansas City. All are free and fun to see on Christmas Day!
Wioth so many great movie theaters in town, you could have your own Christmas Day Film Fest. From the dollar show (ok $2, now) to AMC's Fork & Screen (full menu and bar!), seeing a movie is a great way to see Christmas Day!
In Kansas City we can't ice skate outdoors but a few months of the year. Take the family and head to Crown Center's Ice Terrace or Park Place's outdoor rink. There are many indoor rinks as well if it's too cold out (be sure to call ahead to make sure they are open!).
Whether you are an experienced skier, giving it a try for the first time, or just have the urge to play around in the white stuff-- Snow Creek in Weston, Missouri has something for everyone. So if you love to ski, want to shred on your snowboard, or dare to fly down a ski slope in a huge rubber tube--you can do it all at Snow Creek...and with their snowmaking abilities, you can have a white Christmas!
5. Go to a Casino Even if you are not a gambler, the Kansas City Riverboat Casinos are also great dining, shopping and entertainment destinations. The casino's boast everything from great movie theaters and restaurants to concert venues, hotels and spas. Some of our faves: Harrah's Casino with Moby's (excellent place for seafood) and it's Voodoo Lounge brings in some of the greatest acts anywhere. Ameristar boasts a great buffet and hits a home run with it's Pearl's Oyster Bar and Arthur Bryant's. Don't skip Crazy Olives or the amazing spa at Argosy..and that's just the beginning.
