Kansas City Power and Light DistrictKansas City Power and Light District: The highly touted Kansas City Power and Light District made its debut in late 2007 with the opening of its first of many tenants--McFadden's Sports Saloon and Vivino Restaurant and Bar. The district will feature over 8 city blocks of restaurants, nightclubs and bars, shopping, retail, and is located downtown, across from the Sprint Center. The Power and Light District, which is named after the famed Power and Light building, was originally to be called 'KC Live!', which is now incorporated into the district as a live music and entertainment district. KCP&L Development : The $850 million dollar development is developed by the Cordish Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Cordish plans to have over 450,000 square feet leased in the first phase with over 30 signed tenants to open in the spring of 2008 and includes everything from a gourmet grocery store to authentic 4,000 square feet Irish pub, to a dueling piano bar, men's clothier and much more. Power and Light District Location: The Kansas City Power and Light District is bounded by 12th Street on the north, east to Grand, south to I-670 and west to Baltimore.
The KC Live! block is the block across from the Sprint Center and is located between 13th and 14th Streets at Grand and Walnut. Restaurants, Cafes and Bistros:
