Crossroads Music Festival

By Mary Anne McNeish-Sharp, About.com

Crossroads Music Festival :

People don't always believe me when I say Kansas City has a diverse and thriving live music scene. Yes, KC is the birthplace of Jazz--but the differences in genres that you see here are somewhat of a phenon. You have to see it to believe it.

The Crossroads Music Fest does a great job of showcasing the types of music you'll find in Kansas City, whether it's city faves (Barclay Martin), amazing entertainers (Quixotic), or just plain fun (Funky Mama), you'll find it all at the Crossroads Music Fest for one low, low price, $10.

CMF Details :

The Crossroads Music Fest is aptly named because, well, it hosts over 20 bands in KC's cultural heart on September 12th, 2009.

Bands will play in and around the Crossroads corridor, and include:

Crosstown Station/Skylight Room (15th and McGee)
The Brick (17th and McGee)
Czar Bar (15th and Grand)
Mercy Seat Tattoo
JP Wine Bar

The CMF will include performances by local faves like Quixotic, Barclay Martin, It's Over, Grand Marquis, Cherry's Deluxe, the ACB's and many more.

Crossroads Music Fest Ticket Info :

Tickets (aka festival passes) are $10 in advance and $15 day of show. Advance tickets are available at each CMF venue.

*Please note that if you don't buy a pass, each venue has it's own cover charge.
