The coolest place to be on Friday nights has to be the Holiday Inn's Poolside Party on East 45th Street, just East of the Plaza. Since most Plazatins don't have swimming pool--they head to the Holiday Inn for live music, cocktails, and poolside food to beat the steamy downtown heat. It's Sex in the City without having to have the pool membership....the pool is open to all on Friday nights. Hotel- Motel...yeah, you got it.
