Released on Feburary 8th, 2010 it didn't even have time to hit the shelves. The limited quantities sold out quickly, my Hy-vee had two cases and sold out in two hours.
It seemed the whole city was on the search for the elusive chocolate ale.
There were announcements via Facebook. Tweets that Berbiglia had one case left. Late night texts of which local watering hole still had a keg on hand. There were stories among friends of chocolate hoarders they knew. Valentine's Day came and went, almost as fast as the chocolate ale, and people are still buzzing about it.
Out of ale? Dying to try? Well, you're in luck.
Ragland Road will host a signature dinner with Master Chef Kevin Dundon, Christopher Elbow and Steven Pauwels on March 14th at 7pm. Dinner is $60, per person.
The five course menu will be crafted using Boulevard's finest brews, and will feature the Chocolate Ale. Each courses will be paired with a specially chosen Boulevard Beer. selected by Pauwels.
