The Bottom Line

As if the name doesn't say it all- Bravo! is a wonderful place for an Italian meal both inside and out. The chains newest version is located in the Northland's Zona Rosa, but brings more to the table than your typical pasta and sauce smorgasbord. With their amazing Roman themed decor and white table cloths--you'll feel like you're in a chef owned restaurant the minute you walk in and take a gander at the hustle and bustle that's going on in the open kitchen.
Pros
  • Nice assortment of Italian cuisine.
  • Patio makes you feel like you're in Italy!
  • Nice Kids Menu.
  • Meets halfway between casual and white table cloth.
Cons
  • Long wait, espically on weekends.

Guide Review - Bravo Italian Cucina

From the minute they put the infused dipping oil and piping hot fresh bread on your table, you know you're in for a serious Italiano feast. For lunch you can't go wrong with the chicken pannini. Bravo also offers a nice selection of appetizers--the calamari fritti is served with aioli and pomodoro to mix it up a little.

For dinner, the entree choices offer a little something for everyone. If you're in the mood for pasta--try the Pasta Woozie, a linguine with an alfredo sauce and chunks of wood-grilled chicken and fresh spinach. The Wood-Fired Grilled Salmon is also hard to pass up. For the sweet tooth (and for those who can make it that far!), the tiramisu tastes pretty much homemade, but for those of us who can't make up our minds, try the Dolci Trio which samples their cheesecake, creme brulee and tiramisu to tempt any tastebud.

But what really sets Bravo! apart from many other restaurants is it's beauteous outdoor veranda which is the place to be once the weather turns warm. With plenty of seating and an open air bar that overlooks the Zona Rosa Town Square and fountain--you'll feel less and less like you're in Kansas City, and more like you are somewhere in the middle of Italy. Well....except the fact that the waitstaff does speak English..but never mind that, back to the patio! The veranda is especially great when Zona Rosa fires up it's free Friday and Saturday night jazz concerts..so grab a seat and a bellini and imagine you're relaxing somewhere in Italia.
