Kansas City Comets Indoor Soccer

By

If you were anywhere near the Kansas City Metro in the 1980's, I can guarantee you know the theme song of the Kansas City Comets. Actually, I can hear it in my head right now. The Kansas City Comets took over Kemper Arena from 1980-1991 until the team folded in the MISL.

Soon after, soccer returned to Kemper and the Comets were renamed the Kansas City Attack, securing two championships until the franchise close in 2005. Soccer fever had hit and after a five year hiatus, professional indoor soccer is back in Kansas City. Indeed, the Comets are back...this time as the Missouri Comets.

The Missouri Comets are an expansion indoor team in the Major Indoor Soccer League that includes team franchises in Milwaukee, Chicago, Baltimore, and Omaha. Their inaugural home opener was November 12th, 2010 at the Independence Events Center. Regular season is from November to March.
