Mackenzie Thorpe, "Get to the Heart'

October 2006's First Friday donned internationally renowned English artist Mackenzie Thorpe's installation, 'Get to the Heart'. The five bronze sculptures, which are at Mill Creek Park adjacent to the JC Nichols Fountain, will be there until December--and then tour the world for the next two years. Thorpe was reported to be 'blown away' by Kansas City and it's thriving Urban Arts district, the Crossroads. Thorpe's works are also showing at the Leedy-Voulkos Art Center--a portion of his proceeds from his exhibit will benefit the Boys& Girls Club of Greater KC.
