Readers Respond: Where Do You Volunteer?

By , About.com Guide

With tough economic times and small budgets, local organizations are more desperate than ever to find volunteers for those in need. It doesn't cost a dime in most instances to volunteer, all you need to do is donate a little bit of your time and a warm spirit. So reach out to those in need this holiday season and give something back to one of these great Kansas City organizations. Share It Here:

prepare or serve Thanksgiving dinner

My wife, Sharon, and I would like to volunteer our help to prepare and/or serve Thanksgiving dinner to the needy.

Volunteering Variety

I volunteer at Keeler Women's Center where I teach a course in personal finance. I also volunteer at Turning Point in KCMO - a terrific organization that provides personal and spiritual support to those who suffer chronic or catastrophic illnesses and their families/care-givers.

would like 2 serve 4 Thanksgiving

I have a large family, and we are all interested in serving for Thanksgiving. I know that Union City Mission is full, do you know of any other place in the Kansas City area, that could utilize our help in serving?
